I put gxineplugin.a, gxineplugin.la, and gxineplugin.so into my .mozilla/plugins directory. The permissions are right, but I still can't see streaming video and some of the tv stations. Nothing in the forums or internet have helped so far.... has anyone else had this problem?

Hi, this is sort of a WinXP question, but I trust Linux tech support more
I have been using gentoo for about a year now and, though I support all the ideals of GNU and the free software community whole-heartedly, I don't think Linux is ready to be a desktop OS yet. I think in time it will prove that it is better than anything M$ puts out in any market, but for the time being...most i386 people use Windows XP.
My question: I have a WinXP install and a gentoo install. I have lilo on the MBR but I want the MBR to be the way it was before linux (i.e. just boots windows). How do I uninstall lilo? I tried lilo -u /dev/hda but then when I rebooted I got "Error loading operating system." I have no problem booting into Windows from lilo so nothing is wrong with the installation...what do I have to do to my MBR!?
Thanks and good luck GNU guys.

Well went to upgrade my sisters 1.0PR to 1.0, uninstalled 1.0PR because the internal upgrade feature didnt work (failed to download)
while going to install 1.0 it complained a DLL didnt exist, strange, it works on default win2k installs and did before, same happened with the 1.0PR installer too so i think her PCs broken a bit, its windows 2000 after all **
so i got the dll done, and then they both crash with "cross platform com: -322 INIT_STUB_ERROR"
anybody give me a hand getting it back installed? its going to be all my fault for attempting to keep her secure lol, ideas, sugestions, anything that might help is welcome!
** (yeh whatever she needs windows i cant be arsed maintaining and setting up linux to run publisher, and theres no way to use shockwave, windows is quicker and easier in this case)
edit: it was nspr4.dll
I've been a little forgetful and quite out of the loop of the actual installation procedures lately.
I need to reinstall Windows XP as the secondary OS on the PC alongside my Gentoo. Unfortunately this will destroy the LILO bootloader which I've been using all these years (and I would prefer to keep using it instead of GRUB).
Now the thing is: I totally forgot how to recover LILO after that. I know it involved booting a Linux Boot-CD (any? Will a Knoppix do? Or Gentoo-only?), then chrooting some system directories and lastly running /sbin/lilo once to write the loader back where it belongs.
But I'd really like line-by-line instructions here to refresh my memory. Please help me find them.
)

Hi guys,
Just got my Gentoo system up and running.. it's sweet and a fabulous piece of work - I MUST THANK THE DEVELOPERS !
I'm used to deb and rpm package handling - and I often use a function that shows me the list of files belonging to a certain package. with rpm I would do rpm -ql <packagename>.
How do I do this with portage? It must know, since it can unemerge a package.

Working with Unix is like wrestling a worthy opponent.
Working with windows is like attacking a small whining child
who is carrying a .38.
As always thanks in advance.
When I enter the startx command it brings up exterm and not kde.
