$ dmake

not sure if this is where this goes but......... my gentoo system is getting bloated, when i look at my disk useage it says i am at about 20 gigs...... (this is just on my gentoo partition) ,i keep all my media (music, video) on different partitions, i have a 6 gig vmware image, but other than that....... no big programs or files....... i think i should be able to get rid of 5 or 6 gigs, ...... anyone know how i can do this...... i am not exceedingly good with the linux directory structure, i dont' know what i can and cannot delete, i know where to find what i need for configuration, but that is about it

any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Hallo.

KDE 3.4.1
Linux desktop 2.6.13-gentoo-r3 #1 SMP Sat Oct 8 11:00:00 CEST 2005 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

Ciao.

I had a bootable Linux installation on my laptop, but I managed to accidently wipe it (go me!) a few days back, so I'm starting again from scratch.

I've held off on posting this as it seems to be a fairly common problem, but yaboot is failing to boot Linux:

Is anyone running Linux on their iPod. It is possible to play video on iPods other than the iPod Video. I was wondering whether video could be encoded using ffmpegX

The instructions from http://download.biosdriver.net/?id=46020&comp=NEC&model=mdm100-g_nt.exe%201998-11-03 state that:

Videos must be first converted to uncompressed, 24-bit .avi files at the iPod's screen resolution
And then you use this command...
$ mencoder -ovc raw -ofps 15 -oac pcm -vf scale=220:-2,expand=220:176,format=bgr16 in.avi -o out.avi

I have to admit to not playing with the custom settings too often in ffmpegX. Any pointers?

I went to Best Buy today and bought a Linksys WRT310N. I then returned to my barracks room and immediately proceeded to brick it. Not even TFTP recovery works, and I don't have a JTAG cabel (not that T400s have parallel ports anyway).

So I'm sending the unit to the OpenWrt people to JTAG then use for development purposes. They also return units to users upon request.

So yeah, Merry Christmas to myself.
